All oversize vehicles must display “Oversize Load” signs at the front of the tractor and at the rear of the trailer or whichever part of the load extends the farthest. These signs are also mandatory on two-lane highways if the load exceeds 59.5 feet in length. Flags in red or orange must be placed at the load’s widest points. If the load has a rear overhang of 4 feet or more, it must be flagged.
Additional Rules: Bulldozers with blades wider than 12 feet are only permitted to travel up to 50 miles from their base of operation. If the trip exceeds this distance, the blade must be removed. In Oklahoma, agricultural equipment is not exempt from the oversize permit requirement.
